Eight teams are battling through MCC Season 8 for a $40,000 prize pool and three opportunities to carry EECA onto the M8 World Championship stage.
The MLBB Continental Championships Season 8 (MCC S8) brings Eastern Europe and Central Asia back into regional competition after a historic year for the region.
Eight teams entered the season on August 28, beginning a two-month battle for the MCC title, a share of the $40,000 prize pool and qualification to the M8 World Championship.
But Season 8 begins under very different circumstances.
EECA is no longer simply trying to prove that it can compete internationally. After Team Spirit's victory at MSC 2026, the region enters its next domestic championship having already shown that its strongest teams can defeat the world's best.
Season 8 brings together eight teams from across the EECA competitive ecosystem:
The field combines established organisations with newer challengers looking to break into the top of a region whose international reputation has continued to grow.
Only six of them will survive the Regular Season.
The MCC Season 8 Regular Season runs from August 28 to October 4, with all eight teams competing through a Double Round Robin.
Every team faces each opponent twice, creating a long-term test of consistency before the championship moves into its Playoff stage.
All matches are played as Best of 3.
| Regular Season | Format |
|---|---|
| Teams | 8 |
| Dates | August 28 – October 4, 2026 |
| System | Double Round Robin |
| Matches | Best of 3 |
| Playoff Qualification | Top 6 |
Season 8 also uses a points system that rewards both match victories and individual games won.
| Result | Points |
|---|---|
| 2–0 Win | 3 points |
| 2–1 Win | 2 points |
| 1–2 Loss | 1 point |
| 0–2 Loss | 0 points |
That means even a series defeat can still contribute to a team's position in the standings.
Across a full Double Round Robin, every game can make a difference in the race for the Top 6.
Once the Regular Season ends, the two lowest-ranked teams will be eliminated from MCC Season 8.
The remaining six teams will advance to the Playoffs, which begin on October 9 and ultimately conclude on October 31.
| MCC Season 8 | Details |
|---|---|
| Region | EECA |
| Teams | 8 |
| Regular Season | August 28 – October 4 |
| Playoffs | October 9 – October 31 |
| Playoff Teams | 6 |
| Prize Pool | $40,000 |
| International Destination | M8 World Championship |
The Playoffs will determine not only the next MCC champion, but also which teams will represent EECA internationally at the end of the year.
MCC Season 8 offers three international qualification opportunities.
The team that wins the championship will advance directly to the M8 World Championship, while the second and third-place teams will continue through the M8 Wildcard.
| Final Placement | Qualification |
|---|---|
| Champion | M8 World Championship |
| Runner-up | M8 Wildcard |
| 3rd Place | M8 Wildcard |
The pathway gives EECA multiple opportunities to reach the World Championship.
MCC Season 8 → Top 3 → M8 World Championship pathway
For the champion, the road leads directly to the main event.
For the next two teams, one more battle remains.
MCC Season 8 features a total $40,000 prize pool, distributed across the eight participating teams alongside additional individual and tournament awards.
The champion will claim $10,000, while the runner-up receives $7,000 and third place takes $5,000.
| Placement | Prize |
|---|---|
| 1st | $10,000 |
| 2nd | $7,000 |
| 3rd | $5,000 |
| 4th | $3,500 |
| 5th–6th | $2,500 each |
| 7th | $1,750 |
| 8th | $1,250 |
The prize pool adds another layer to a season where the biggest reward remains the opportunity to carry EECA onto the world stage.
Any discussion around MCC Season 8 begins with Team Spirit.
The reigning MCC champions entered the season after winning their seventh consecutive regional title in Season 7.
They then went one step further.
At the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2026, Team Spirit defeated Yangon Galacticos 4–3 in the Grand Final to become the first team from outside Southeast Asia to win an official international MLBB tournament.
The victory transformed MCC's international story.
EECA had already produced teams capable of challenging on the global stage, but MSC 2026 provided definitive proof that the region could also win at the highest level.
Season 8 now asks a new question:
Who can challenge the team that just became world-class?
Team Spirit's success does not only raise expectations for one organisation.
It raises the standard for the entire MCC ecosystem.
Teams such as Team Yandex, Level UP, RAKUZAN and the rest of the Season 8 field are no longer competing in a region defined primarily by its potential.
They are competing in a league that now has an international champion at its summit.
That creates a different benchmark for every roster.
Beating the strongest teams domestically is no longer only about winning MCC.
It can be evidence that a team may also be ready for the international stage.
The destination at the end of the Season 8 pathway is particularly significant.
The M8 World Championship will conclude in Istanbul, Türkiye, in January 2027, marking the first M Series World Championship Finals staged in Europe.
For the teams competing through MCC, reaching M8 would therefore mean carrying EECA into a World Championship taking place closer to home than ever before.
The journey begins through six weekends of domestic competition.
It ends with the opportunity to stand among the best teams in the world.
Throughout MCC Season 8, fans can follow the competition through MLTV, including:
Eight teams entered Season 8.
Six will reach the Playoffs.
Three will continue toward M8.
Only one will become MLBB Continental Championships Season 8 Champion.
